My work explores how our perceptions of life events and their continuing impact shapes our sense of identity. Limiting or liberating, everything we experience presents us with a choice devoid of meaning; How we choose to interpret, act, and continue to carry (or discard) our experiences after the fact defines us.

I present this idea through broad interpretive spaces with minimal, primitive forms, often with repetitive motifs alluding to the work we do as individuals to process complex situations. There are usually figures present which represent the self, and what I refer to as “stones,” that stand in for the products or results of our choices.

I work in many mediums to explore ways of interpreting this core concept including dry media, fiber, and found objects. I also draw on my skills as a visual designer to create bold, graphic imagery through printmaking.
